Another worth visiting beach during a Turkey boat cruise is Belcekiz Beach. The water temperature by this beautiful beach is swimmable more than ten months of the year. The name of the bay comes from an interesting legend about the big and romantic love between a sailor and a local girl named Belcekiz. In those days the boats passing by the harbor stopped here for supplies of fresh water. Once at a day, the young son of a gulet captain went ashore for water and met Belcekiz. The girl was so pretty and beautiful.

The young sailor fell in love with her at first sight, but he had to his boat. The boat sailed away, and the girl looked for a long time after her lover. The two lovers could see each other only when the boat passed thru this beach and the young sailor sailed by his tender boat for water. After the boat again was sailing over the beach, they had been caught by a heavy storm. The young sailor tried to persuade his father to get into the bay and dock by the beach knowing that there is always calm water there. Unfortunately, the old captain thought that his son could break the boat on the rocks while he would try to dock near to the beach in order to see his girlfriend. Finally the storm had been intensified, the son and father had a dispute. The captain was seriously angry, and when he saw that the boat was carried on rocks by waves, he threw the boy overboard. The captain fell to the wheel and brought the boat from the rocks, at the same moment he saw a bay with calm water. But the waves have devoured him. Belcekiz could not wait for her lover anymore. She could not bear the separation and jumped into the sea from a cliff and dies. Since then, the bay was started be called as Belcekiz, and the place where he was killed for her beloved was called as Dead Sea.
